7 Ways to Help you Stay Motivated Everyday

We've all been there, where we don't have the motivation to do anything.

Between home activities and work, we start to feel overwhelmed.

There is a long to-do list waiting for us, and each day, there is a new task on it, but we can't seem to do any of those things.

The reality is, we won't always have the motivation to do everything we need to do, so discipline plays an important part.

Discipline is the act of making ourselves do what we have to do, even if we don't feel like it.

But if we are not motivated, we probably won't have the discipline either.

Motivation is important because, with it, it's how we have dreams and goals.

Without it, we feel like we don't have a purpose in life.

Motivation can also help us be better people and contributes to self-growth, and discipline is what brings us to success.

Trying to stay motivated all the time can be challenging; here are some ideas that can help you stay motivated every day or get your motivation back.

FIND YOUR REASON.

Motivation comes from a purpose, a reason you are doing what you are doing.

Establish a specific goal you want to achieve.

This goal will be the soul of our motivation, no matter the difficulties we encounter.

FIND INSPIRATION

We all have this person that motivates us, the person in some way we aspire to be.

Today with social media, it's easier to follow any person we admire, make good use of it, and follow the ones that inspire you the most.

I don't know about you, but watching other people share their success, motivates me to keep going.

GOALS - GOALS - GOALS

Establish your goals, be specific, be realistic and start with short-term goals.

Short-term goals are great because you can see results right away, which will help you stay motivated.

If you start with a long-term goal expecting to see results soon, you will feel disappointed and lose motivation.

Try to establish short-term goals each month.

Write them down and keep them in a place where you can see them every day.

ORGANIZATION

Staying organized will make a change in your life.

If you organize each task you have to do each day, you won't feel overwhelmed.

Start with creating a morning routine where you write down which tasks to do that day.

You do not need to organize the entire month in one day; go one day at a time.

Use a planner or a notebook to write down your to-do list.

VISUALIZE

Visualizing your goals makes it easier to accomplish them.

Create a vision board with images and phrases that will motivate you to work towards that goal.

Keep it in a place where you can see it every day: in front of your desk, your closet doors, above your bed, etc.

These types of boards are tools that will help you maintain focus on your specific goal.

GOOD BYE NEGATIVITY

Believe it or not, complaining and surrounding ourselves with people who have negative energy is what destroys our motivation,

I know it is easier said than done.  But start with small changes like:

Be thankful every morning for that day.

Write down affirmations or things that make you happy; it will only take you 5 minutes.

Meditation is a way to remove the negative energy and transform it into positive energy.

Avoid people who are always complaining or seeing the worst of everything.

POSITIVE DISTRACTIONS

There are times when no matter what we do, we can't seem to get things done.

When we are in this situation, the best thing to do is distract ourselves from other activities.

And, by other activity, I don't mean watching Netflix or Youtube for two hours.

Positive distractions like:

  • Exercise:  go for a run, go for a walk, take your pet out for a walk, do yoga or go to the gym, etc.
  • Play with your pets
  • Play with your kids
  • Listen to music

Motivation is the key that will make us work hard for our dreams and goals.

When we are not motivated,  we feel stagnant, like we are not moving forward.

These can happen in many different aspects of your life: work, school, sports, relationships, etc.

If you are feeling stagnant, you don't seem to see any positive changes in your life, lost interest; it might be time for some changes in your life to get your motivation back.
