Sugar Wax Recipe

One of the biggest dilemmas of women is plucking the hair! If you prefer something more natural, economic this recipe is perfect for you.

Making your own wax at home is very simple.

You need:

1/2 cup sugar can be white, brown or muscovado

2 tablespoons lemon can be yellow or green

1 tablespoon water

1 teaspoon salt

Preparation

Mix all ingredients in a saucepan and place over low heat, begin to melt the sugar and salt,  for moments remove it from heat and lightly move the pan forming small circles to be uniformly mixed and dissolved. 

The mixture will begin to change color from white to gold, coffee, candy color, that is the time to test whether it is ready. 

Time to test it!!

Separate the pan from the heat because you do not want to burn out if it is ready! with a spoon grab a little of the mixture and place it in a container with water and ice. 

If the mixture is smooth as gum it means that you still need more time and you put it back into the fire, but if the mixture gets tough that is difficult to remove from the spoon or cannot take off then it means that this is ready!

now put the mix into another container, preferably glass; be careful because it is too hot.

With a spoon start playing with it stirring the mixture until it is cool enough to catch it with your hands.

It is important that you continue stirring until cool, if you let it cool alone, the mixture will not be useful because it will turn hard.

Once cooling, the mixture will begin to be sticky,  a more solid consistency similar to modeling clay or putty. 

start playing with it with your hands, as you would do it with the clay or putty, it will be very sticky at first but gradually will get a more solid consistency and color. 

While working with it will become a clearer color, the lighter the better, when you have a light golden color is almost white your wax is ready!

You can save the wax in a plastic bag in the refrigerator, be sure it doesn’t have contact with the air.

With this wax as is hard, you do not need any strips when using, you do not need to heat it in the microwave. 

Just grab a piece of the mixture place it over the area to shave in the direction of hair growth and you pull in the opposite direction.

Remember that while preparing it the color is not as important as the consistency of it!

If you live in a very warm place, it may be more difficult to get the right consistency since it will melt very fast, but if you can do it in an air-conditioning place will be easier
