How to build an effective workout plan for beginners

As a beginner, the difficult part of starting to workout at home is how to start?

If you want to work out at home and see results, you need to create a workout plan, but how do you create a workout plan that works?

Thinking about a workout plan can be a little overwhelming, but it is not that difficult to start with if you have your intentions clear!

You can also subscribe to my blog and get your free bodyweight workout plan for four weeks to help you start!

The first thing you need to establish is your intention!

Why do you want to work out? Do you want to lose weight? Do you want to get stronger? Do you want to build muscles? Or maybe just for fun as an extra activity.

Once you defined what your goal is. We can move on to the second most important aspect of this workout plan consistency.

Consistency is just your compromise of doing something.

This means you will have to be consistent to achieve your goals! Consistency is the key to see results! No excuses.

One of the biggest questions many people ask is:

 How frequently should I exercise?

This really depends on:

  • Your goals
  • Your available time

You won't get stronger faster by training every day. You won't lose your improvement by having the weekends off.

There is no right or wrong answer to this! It all depends on what makes you feel more comfortable and that you know you'll be consistent at it.

The same goes as :

What is the best time for exercising?

You can work out at any time of the day you want, or have time to it doesn't matter!! Some people prefer in the morning because it gives them more energy; some people prefer at night because it helps them relax; it's completely up to you!

As a beginner or as someone who stops exercising for a long time, it can be confusing to define what you need to focus on first.

What type of exercises?

Should you use weights? What do you do each day?

I always suggest to my students (clients) work on strengthening your body first.

I have a full-body strengthening routine post that can help you get started or subscribe to get a full-body four-week workout plan!

It is so much better you start with bodyweight exercises; it will help you strengthen your body, and the possibility of injuries is low.

You can not lift weights or start with resistance bands if your body is not ready for it!

Focus on preparing your body first!!

I always say start small and work your way up for improvement. This way, you set realistic goals that you can achieve;  and will keep you motivated to keep going because you will see progress.

I hope these tips can help you get started with your workout plan, to start working out at home and if you decide to try my free four-week workout plan please let me know in the comments below!
