How I Keep My Hair Damage Free

I have been making some changes to my beauty routines this year and I was dying to share with all of you the results.

I was having issues with my hair, was dry dull falling a lot and I had split ends.

I decided it was time for a change because I really didn't want to cut it all off; it occurred to me that mainly the problem was I was over washing it and my shampoo because most shampoos contain sulfates and chemicals.

So, the very first thing I did was trim the split ends, this is important if you want healthy hear, there is no amount of products that can repair split ends, once your ends are split the only solution is to trim them.

The second step is to detox your hair and scalp from the chemicals of the shampoo.

What I did was I prepare a mixture of baking soda and water( one tablespoon of baking soda and 4 tablespoons of water) so wash the hair and scalp I rinse it with water then  I use a mixture of apple cider vinegar with water (again 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and 4 tablespoons of water) again rinse I with water.

You have to be very careful with this because if you are very sensitive you may have some irritation. I did this once a week for 3 weeks only.

After doing this my hair felt so much different, softer, smooth and it stopped tangling.

I know some people use baking soda and apple cider vinegar as a natural shampoo, but I read that even though it could be good, it can also cause irritations because I am very sensitive I didn't want to take that risk; if you use it as a shampoo and works for you is great, I personally don't use it.

I found in a local store that sells natural/organic products and they have this activated charcoal shampoo that helps to detox the hair from pollution and chemicals from hair products, also, helps to prevent split ends and moistures dry scalps.

I have been using the shampoo for 2 months now, and my hair and scalp feels so much better than before.

The last thing I did which actually improved the health of my hair a lot more was that I stopped washing my hair every day.

This step was the hardest for me to do.

I exercise every single day and I live in a city where every day is hot so sweat a lot, I had the wrong idea in my mind that I needed to clean my hair every single day, otherwise, I would smell bad, but, in reality, I was only damaging my hair.

When you wash your hair every day you strip it of their natural oils.

Your scalp starts to produce more oil and therefore making your hair become more greasy faster.

As well as that, your hair will start to thin out and weaker which makes it fall out easier.

I started by washing it every third day, it was helping but not for long, I was still having issues with my hair and my scalp was itching most of the time.

I realize that I have dry hair and dry scalp, and as long as I keep washing it regularly it would not resolve the issue, so I started to wash my hair once a week only with the natural shampoo I mention before and the problem was solved.

No more itching scalp, no more greasy hair!

My hair has never been as healthier as it is today, it has been 2 months since I started to see good results, and I am never going back to regular shampoos or washing my hair as often as I did.

If you are looking for ways to restore your hair and keep it healthy, then, you should definitely try switching to a more natural shampoo and stopover washing it!.
