Positive Habits To Start The New Year

We are starting a new year already, I almost can't believe it, it was so fast.

I wanted to start the year with a new blog post, I have never been good at "new years resolutions" because I hardly ever really plan them and I almost never do them.
But because last year was a difficult year for me I wanted to do some resolutions this year, but not the typical ones like getting fit or eat more healthy. These are more habits, little things that will help me have a better year and have healthier mental health.

1.- Be more Positive.- It sounds super easy, but if you think about it, most of the time we are so negative, whether we are mean to ourselves, or we had a bad day, something didn't go as we planned.

All those times we complain and we feel awful and forget about all the good and positive things in our lives. I want to be positive no matter the situation, even if I had the worst day ever.

2.- Be more grateful.- Most of the time all the things that I have, the people around me, I take them for granted.

Because I know I have them, but, when something goes wrong I focus only on that and forget about all the good things, all the people around me supporting me.

I want to be more grateful for everything I own, the people around me, even the little things.

3.-Take a Me day.-  Been self-employed has its advantages and disadvantages, one is that I am always working 24/7, Plus I have a blog and manage all social media ( blog and work) so if you think about it, I don't really get time for me.

I tend to feel overwhelmed by the amount of work that I have to do and I tend to forget to take a day just for me to relax and not do anything.

I want to take at least 1 day a week to do that, includes taking a break from social media as well, it will be really good for my mental health.

4.-Don't focus on the numbers.- I have been focusing so much on my page views every day, every week, every month. The same as the number of followers on social media, and let me tell you this is so frustrating.

I started to stress out so much about it that my anxiety came back and I just didn't enjoy blogging anymore.

This year I want to forget about those numbers and just have fun, enjoy what I do.

If you are a blogger, youtube, or just trying to grow on any social media, this is something you might want to do as well.

5.- Quality time with my loved ones.- with so many social media, nowadays we "forget" to really socialize with others. How many times have you been in the same room with another person and instead of talking to each other, you send messages?

I want to stop looking at my phone screen and talk to the person I have next to me more.

Have more quality time with the ones I love ( my family, friends, boyfriend), get to know them better, disconnect from the internet, and connect with them more.

6.- Meditate.- I used to do this all the time, I learn to meditate when I was younger because it helped me with my anxiety and whenever I felt like I couldn´t meditate I used to just listen to some relaxing music to help me feel better and calm.

I really want to get back at it  I feel so much better when  I do it, just 5 minutes a day is more than enough.

7.-Write Affirmations.- Take 5 minutes a day to write a couple affirmations every day.

This will make you focus on positive thinking and will help you eliminate any negative thinking. Is so much better if you do this in the morning before you start your day.

8.-Be more organized.- You won't believe the power of being organized! clean out your desk or room, get rid of anything you no longer need.

Try to keep your space clean and organized by the end of the day, whatever you use just put it back after you are done with it.

This way you, not just won't have to clean more often but it will make you feel so much better to wake up every day to an organized place.

These habits will definitely make my life better, because I have been in a bad place this past year and I want to be mentally, emotionally, and physically healthier.

Thank you so much for reading me, If you do have some new year's resolutions I will love to know about them! and please share it if you like it!
