9 Habits to Become a more Positive Person

Probably one of your resolutions for this year is to be more positive, to try to take things with a better attitude.

It's easier said than done because although we propose to start the day with a positive attitude, not to get angry; without realizing it, we tend to fall into old habits and stop trying.

This post it's dedicated to helping you become a more positive person, with small habits that you can gradually implement in your daily life, which will help you achieve it.

Remember that a new habit won't be born overnight; it is gradually incorporated into your life with small changes to make the transition easier and maintain it.

Let's begin to understand why it is important to be a more positive person and the benefits that come with it.

Having a positive attitude towards life: even when we encounter difficult situations, helps combat stress and anxiety.

Having a good attitude towards different situations can help us have more strength; both emotionally and physically, have more self-confidence; as a result, we are happier and motivated to move forward.

We are supposed to look at the bright side of everything, but many of us feel that the situations we are facing have no bright side.

Some experts and people who handle energies say that we attract the same type of energy that we project: if we project negative energy and negative thoughts, bad things are what we will receive.

However, if we project positive energy, we will receive abundance and better opportunities.

Some small actions you can start to help you become a more positive person are:

Be kinder to yourself: One of the worst habits many of us have; is to be too hard on ourselves, especially when we make mistakes or fail to achieve something.

Remember that we are all human, and we are not perfect.

Instead of being hard on yourself for making a mistake, CONGRATULATE yourself.
Why? Because what you did was within your capabilities, you gave the best of yourself.

You tried something different, went out of your comfort zone; regardless of the result, you gave the best of yourself.

Celebrate Your Achievements: No matter how small they may be for other people, if it was an achievement for you, recognize it, celebrate it, congratulate yourself for having achieved it.

They are your achievements and deserve to be recognized by you.

Stay away from negative people: Some people transmit a lot of negative energy; they are always in a bad mood, always complaining about everything and everyone.

Even if they are your friends or family, try to limit the time with them.
Bad energy is contagious!

Journaling: One of my favorites is to write affirmations in a notebook every day in the morning. These affirmations help your mind focus on positive things and carry that mindset throughout the day.

You can also write about things that make you feel happy; it's not something that takes a lot of time, with 5 minutes a day that you dedicate to it, it's enough.

Take out what is no longer useful:
As Marie Kondo says: if it doesn't bring you joy, take it out.
It applies not only to material things; but also to thoughts and feelings we have stored up for things that happened in the past.

If you need to cry, do it.
If you need to scream, do it.
If you need to laugh out loud, do it.
And forgive those who wronged you, not for them, but for you to let go of that feeling of resentment.

Exercise more: Personally, exercise has been one of the best therapies I have had, as it helps to produce endorphin, dopamine, and serotonin ( the hormones of happiness); it helps to relax the body and release stress.

Do something you are passionate about!:
Try to dedicate some time to do something you are passionate about, like a hobby. Maybe it is something you used to do when you were young but, because of work, and other occupations you stopped doing it.

Taking up something that we are so passionate about helps us be happier. After all, we feel "fulfilled" because we enjoy it, and it helps us find motivation in life.

Meditate: I know not everyone is a fan of meditating, but it has helped me have more positive thinking and relax when I have a heavy day.

You don't need to be an expert and can find many apps and videos on youtube with guided meditations; those minutes you dedicate to just focusing on yourself and disconnecting from the world make a difference.

Enjoy nature: If you feel that meditating is not your thing, take a few minutes one day a week to go to the beach or a park or a place where you are surrounded by nature and simply enjoy.

Disconnecting from the world and just admiring nature without thinking; will help you feel calmer and fill you with a different energy.

These are just a few ideas that I have implemented in my life, and they have helped me a lot on my way to becoming more positive.

You don't need to do everything on the list, but they can help give you an idea of where to start and, little by little, implement the habits that will help you eliminate negative thoughts.
