12 Summer Beauty Essentials

12 Summer Beauty Essentials

Summer is just around the corner and this year it feels like it's going to be hotter than last year. Even though I live in a city where it is hot pretty much all year round, there is something about the summer that has a vibe, maybe because it means vacations for most! lol.

I always relate summer to pool parties and days at the beach, so I thought I will bring you my beauty summer essentials that help me survive these hot days.

A good and cute pair of sunglasses will protect your eyes from the sun, which is a must because you can actually get cancer in your eyes for being on the sun for long periods of hours too frequently without protection and will also help you avoid frowning which means no wrinkles on your forehead.

Beach hats

This is another most because it will protect you from the heat to avoid getting a heatstroke, and those really big ones will not just cover your head but also some parts of your body so you will avoid sunburn too.

This is the second one most important of all,  a good sunscreen that will protect your skin from the UV rays and will avoid sunburns. Remember to apply it every 2 hours if you are going to be exposed for long hours at the sun or swimming. I personally like the HAWAIIAN TROPIC 50+  because is not greasy and doesn't have a  weird smell.

Tanning oil or lotion
This one is if you like to have a tan but you don't want to expose yourself too much to the sun to get the color, it works like sunscreen because it also has SPF in it but this one has color in it to give you that golden looking skin.

Hair tights
If you are like me and have long hair and love having it lose all day, then you will need a hair tight eventually, after being under the sun after a while you will feel the need to put your hair in a ponytail or a bun.

   lip balm

This is a most to keep your lips hydrated and avoid any chapped lips, you can get ones that have SPF on them to protect them from the sun or you can make your own lip balms at home.

Your skin needs to be hydrated too and not just your face but your entire body, remember you will be spending long hours under the sun and even if you go for a swim, being exposed to the heat will dry your skin so use a good moisturizer to hydrate it. I like to use the clinique dramatically different gel for my face during the summer because its light and for my body, I like to make my own body butter with oils, cocoa butter, and beeswax to really nourish my skin.

Makeup setting spray
I personally don't like to wear a lot of makeup during the summertime, I prefer to keep it simple with some mascara, little bit of bronzer and a tinted lip balm; but if you d like wearing makeup a good makeup setting spray will help you keep everything in place and will also refresh your skin, you can either buy one of your choices or make one at home.

 Aloe Vera gel
This is an amazing natural product that will save your life if you get sunburns, it will heal your skin and moisturize it at the same time. You can use it straight from the plant itself or buy it as a gel in a store. You will be surprised how many benefits this plant has.

Rose Water
This is another lifesaver, rose water will refresh your skin while exposing to the sun, avoid sunburns and heal them as will help reduce any redness or rash on the skin and the best part is that you can make your own rose water at home.

Bottle of water
This one is the most important of all, carry with you a bottle of cold water everywhere, is hot outside and you need to keep your body hydrated all day long, remember 2 liters a day or more.

Sea Salt Hair Spray
This one is not exactly a must but, if you want to give your hair some texture or that beachy waves look without using any heat or you can use some sea salt hairspray to achieve the look. And you can make your own sea salt spray at home really easy.

These are my top 12 essentials for this summer, as you can see most of them are skincare because I do believe this time of the year we should really focus on taking good care of our skin due to the extreme wheater.

What are your summer essentials?
